AKP and CHP to convene on agenda of ‘İmralı visit’
ANKARA – Following the decision of the commission to convene with the agenda of visiting Abdullah Öcalan, both the AKP and CHP have decided to hold internal meetings with their own members.
After the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission—established in Parliament as part of the Peace and Democratic Society Process—decided to meet with the agenda of visiting Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, political contacts intensified.
CHP Chair Özgür Özel stated last night that he would meet with the party’s commission members on Thursday to discuss the anticipated visit.
In this context, the AKP will also convene under the leadership of Deputy Chair Efkan Ala and Parliamentary Group Chair Abdullah Güler. The meeting, expected to take place in Parliament, will be held tomorrow (November 20) at 3 pm local time.
