Hours before the celebrations organised in Newroz Park in Rezan (Bağlar) district of Amed with the slogans "Rêbertiya Azad Civaka Demokratîk (Free Leader, Democratic Society)" and "Democratic Society for Freedom", entrances to the area started.

 

The group photo of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, taken with the Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party İmralı Delegation and his fellow prisoners during his call on 27 February was also hung in the area.

 

In the photograph, besides Abdullah Öcalan, Ahmet Türk, Pervin Buldan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Tülay Hatimoğulları, Tuncer Bakırhan, Cengiz Çiçek and Faik Özgür Erol take part. Prisoners Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş are also in the photograph.
